Hey Ironman,

Thanks for the feedback. You are right, some people will never like running but you have persevered and at very least like the results it has given. Takes a lot of dedication!

Well I for one HATE running. I am a 27 year AF Vet and the only reason I run is to pass my PT test. I am a lifelong powerlifter and can bench over 405 pounds even at my "old" age. Now THAT is fun!! Running has had some benefit at least with my muscular endurance. I can rep 225 for 30 reps on a flat bench and I did 315 for 20 reps on a decline bench so it isn't all bad. I would rather do something a little more low impact since if I run too much it pounds me, but then again at 230 pounds I will never be a distance runner. So there you go, the good with the bad from a person that hates running and never found it to be fun! God bless you if you find it fun!

Extremely well put on something that can oftentimes be very difficult to comprehend. I recall absolutely hating running for two years and then it just, clicked. No rhyme or reason or crystallizing moment, it just clicked. Its a beautiful phenomenon about running. Happy Running.

I've been running off and on for about two years, but never really enjoyed it. Mostly it was just something to do when it was too crappy to ride my bike. Maybe the longest run was 3 miles

The last few months I've been running more. It still sucked. Then I went for a run this weekend. 5 miles. I felt like I could go forever. I felt strong. I felt fast. It was fantastic.

I get it now.

Great post! Actually one of the reasons I have continued to run for 15+ years is that I REMEMBER how HARD it was to START. I never want to experience that starting from scratch feeling again, plus I grew to LOVE the runners high!

FYI - New gymgoers may appreciate today's post: Gym Etiquitte for Resolutionists: http://www.livebreathehuzzah.com/2012/01/03/mr-huzzah-gym-etiquette-for-the-resolutionist/
